රේගු නීති උල්ලංඝනය කරමින් ළග තබාගෙන සිටි අධි සුඛෝපභෝගී මෝටර් රථයක් බස්නාහිර පළාත් හිටපු ආණ්ඩුකාර අසාද් සාලි මහතාගේ රථ ගාලයේ තිබී පොලීසිය පසුගියදා සොයාගත්තේය.
එහිදී හිටපු ආණ්ඩුකාරවරයාට අයත් ලිපි ලේඛන රැසක් ද මෝටර් රථයේ තිබී සොයා ගැණුනු බව පොලීසිය පවසන්නේ.
අධි සුඛෝපබෝගී බෙන්ස් රථයක් කාර් නෙට් බලපත්‍රය යටතේ මෙරටට ගෙන්වා ඇති අතර එම බලපත්‍ර කොන්දේසියට අනුව අනුමත වසර දෙකක කාලය ගත වූ පසු එම රථය ගෙන් වූ රටට ප්‍රතිඅපනයනය කළ යුතු වේ.
එසේ නොවන්නේ නම් රජයට බදු ගෙවමින් එය තබාගත වුව යුතු ද මෙම බෙන්ස් රථය එම රේගු නීති උල්ලංඝණය කරමින් බස්නාහිර පළාත් හිටපු ආණ්ඩුකාර අසාද් සාලි මහතාගේ රථ ගාලයේ තිබී පොලීසිය ඊයේ (03) සොයාගත්තේය.
මෙම රථයේ අයිතිකරු මහනුවරදී පොලීසිය විසින් සොයාගත් අතර ඔහු කාත්තන්කුඩියේ පදිංචිව සිට පසුව එංගලන්තයට ගොස් පැමිණෙන අවස්ථාවේදී කාර් නෙට් බලපත්‍රයක් මඟින් මෝටර් රථය ගෙන්වා ඇති බව තහවුරු කරගෙන ඇත.
අසාද් සාලි ආණ්ඩුකාර ධූරයට දරමින් සිටියදී මෙම මෝටර් රථය පොලිස් භාරයට ගැනීමට කොළඹ 07 මල්පාරේ පිහිටි ඔහුගේ අධි සුඛෝපබෝගී මහල් නිවාස සංකීර්ණයක අයත් රථ ගාලට ගිය අවස්ථාවේදී අදාළ මෝටර් රථයේ හිමිකරුට දුරකථන ඇමතුමක් ආණ්ඩුකාරවරයාගෙන් ලැබුණි.
එහිදී ආණ්ඩුකාරවරයාගේ ඉල්ලීම පරිදි මෝටර් රථයේ හිමිකරු දුරකථනය පොලිස් නිලධාරියාට ලබාදී තිබුණි.
අසාද් සාලි මහතා තමන් මෙම මෝටර් රථය පරිහරනය නොකළ බව පැවසුව ද මෝටර් රථය පොලිස් භාරයට ගැනීමෙන් පසුව සිදුකළ පරික්ෂා කිරීමේදී ආණ්ඩුකාරවරයාට අයත් ලිපි ලේඛන රැසක් එහි තිබී සොයා ගැණූනි.
ඔබතුමා / ඔබතුමිය ගේ ඊමේල් ලිපිනය සඳහන් කිරීමට අකමැති නම් ඊමේල් ලිපිනය ලෙස abc@xyz.lk යන්න පහත පෝරමයට ඇතුලත් කොට ඔබතුමා / ඔබතුමිය ගේ ප්‍රතිචාර (සිංහල හෝ ඉංග්‍රීසි බසින්) ලබාදෙන්න ෴
According to the conversation it is clear that Asaad Saali is using his position to intimidate police officers by stating that he has spoken to the DIG and DIG has agreed for him to keep the vehicle. He is using his position to tell the officers that they have no powers to undertake investigation whereas the officers were clearly using their authority, so the Saali character thinks he could name drop DIG to over rule the officers. This is clearly Saali using his rank to overpower the offciers doing a legal and authorised task. The fact that Saali had other cars to use, and no battery etc does not necessarily mean that he had no interest in the car. The car was in his parking, he is protectng, and it was being used as per the presence of documentation. This amounts to Saali undertaking an illegal importation of an expensive car, not paying due custom duties and waiting for the time to pass and eventually to being the car out when the authorities have forgotten. Saali in this case appears to be another high ranking crook, and I think this should be taken as another complaint against him: Illegal importation, avoidance of tax and using his position to intimidate and prevent a legal and authorized operation by authorities.
